Make the content

Useful page types for a site.

See also 'how to write your copy for web pages' and questions to ask yourself in order to produce content.

1) Introduction text for the front page - overview / description of your company and its services.

2) Contact page - name(s) and positions of people in your company, address etc. More information click here.

3) Response form directly off the web site. Click here to see why this is important.

4) Services - List of services that you can carry out and a longer description of these, giving basic information.

5) About your company - company history, size etc.

6) Any major contracts that you have served.

Possible other pages:

7) Customer recommendation - any recommendation letters that you have received. See more information here.

8) Frequently asked questions - any useful questions and answers that customers usually come up with OR that would serve to better explain your services. More here.

9) More detailed explanation of any of your major services - giving customers more in-depth information.

10) Case study / studies - Examples of work carried out, pictures and possibly customer feedback - this could be linked from your customer recommendation page and vice versa also.

11) Company background and history

12) Guarantees - if you have a particular guarantee - tell people about it!

13) Terms and conditions - although you may not believe this, we have recently won an order simply by having our terms and conditions clearly available on the site. Read more here.

14) Product information

15) News - keep up-to-date news items on your particular field of service or news regarding your company.

16) Privacy statement - details of what happens when a company or individual deal with you by giving you their details - i.e. will the information be shared with another company etc..

17) Site map - help the search engines and visitors find their way around your site. This is a list of the pages on the web site with links to the pages.

18) Other information - When constructing text for sites of my own I usually like to detail the sales process in order to create text for pages. Imaging that you were explaining your services to a new customer and simply write the process / conversation down, remembering to explain the various aspects of what you do.
