Hidden fields in a form

Forms allow you to collect responses directly off your web site. Producing a form means you can run surveys and gain feedback or leads directly from your site.

Visitors can respond straight from the web page without having to use their e-mail client. Hidden form fields.

Insert a hidden field - these are used for extra features added to forms.

In order to use this, you must have firstly inserted a form (click here for more). See also table editing, to allow you to make form entries neater in columns.

In our form's case we have the following special features:

1) Adding a hidden field here called 'subject' with a value of e.g. 'response form for my web site' will add that value as the subject of the e-mail that you receive.

2) Add a hidden field 'emailaddress'
In this specify one or more e-mail addresses, comma separated for the form to be sent to rather than the default administration address.

If not included as a field the form will go to the main administrators e-mail address.

3) Add a hidden field 'redirect'
In this, specify the page url of the thank you page (therefore the user can specify different thank you pages for different forms). If not filled in, it goes to the thankyou.html page as standard. NB This is added automatically with new forms, but is blank.
