Brief overview and introduction.

We strongly recommend you read this page,
to give you an overview of your web site.

When you log into the site, you will immediately be presented with a list of web pages that are ready for you to edit. If you do not have any pages then you will be able to start adding them if you have a template. As a minimum, we will always supply a web site with a simple template, being a menu and editable area for you to get started with.

Basic rules
You find your way around the administration panel using the tabs at the top. Clicking on 'Shopping' expands an alternative menu. The top tabs look like this:

Simple and advanced use
When you log in, the system is always set to the more simple layout. This means that there are less options available on the top tabs and that there are fewer options under administration, shopping, menu, and on the page editor.

Just below the tabs, is a tick box : , which if ticked shows the edit template tab and also further options. This will remain on advanced until you untick it or log out.

Advanced options:
These include menu set up, template editor, e-commerce set up under the 'Administration' tab, and advanced page editor functions. Under the page editor in advanced mode, there more options under each of the tabs and the forms tab also appears for the addition and editing of forms.

The help for each function in the page editor shows whether this is an advanced option or not - i.e. if you want to use them, click on the 'Advanced options' at the top of the page.

Understanding the layout of your web site

Web pages, sections and subsections
Web pages all sit within a section - these are added and edited under the menu set up tab. At it's most basic, this is just one section that all pages sit within. You can add more sections and subsections, as you become more advanced, allowing your web pages to be organised into different subject headings. This forms the basis of the menu structure, with sections and subsections, containing web pages, which become available as a user clicks through the section headings and then pages on the menu.

Products and categories
As with web pages, products sit under product category headings. Products are shown when a user clicks on the category heading.

Understanding how to edit your web site

Navigation around the administration panel.
Use the top tabs to navigate around the administrative panel.

Products
You can reach and edit products and categories under the shopping tab (whereupon the category and product headings will appear at the top).

Pages
To get to web pages, click on the 'Edit pages' tab at the top and you will immediately be taken to the web pages list, from where you can edit any of the web pages listed or add more. To edit the menu, click on the 'Edit menu' tab which appears top right and to edit the template or add more templates, click on the template tab at the top right (option only available when advanced is ticked).

Other settings
Under Administration, you can reset options, including your user name and password.
