What is a template?
This is a very useful page type which deals with most of
the common parts of site pages. As a result you do not have
to replicate all parts of a page each time you create one,
thus being able to start a page off using a template and
therefore concentrate on content and not layout.

The really useful bit about templates...
If you alter a template and re save it, all pages that have been
developed using this template have the same alteration made to
them and will show this once you edit and resave / re publish
them.
This means that you can change the overall style of a site
or alter common elements of a page sitewide within a matter of
minutes, rather than having to call up each page and make
the changes over and again.
However, these changes are limited to the template parts - if
you wish to make a change to individual pages and repeat this
within the pages editable area, this needs to be done manually.
Different templates can be produced to make different sections
look varied, or where a menu might change per section.
